Gaslight Newsletter – July 2019

Dear Members of G&S

You will notice that in this issue of Gaslight we are focusing very much on our superb production of ‘SOUTH PACIFIC’.  Please support G&S by promoting this production to all your friends and family.

We have also got an exciting competition running for the person who sells the most tickets to ‘South Pacific’ and this is open to all members of G&S:

The ticket sales campaign is a competition for enthusiastic sales agents. One point will be awarded for each ticket sold.

Prize money will be awarded to the three agents with the highest number of points.

The prizes will be R 3 000, R 2 000 and R 1 000.

For further information please contact Waldo Buckle.

Future productions and a concert for later in 2019 are being finalised and we encourage you to keep your eyes open for audition dates.  Information will only be released once ‘South Pacific’ has finished its run.

We will also be hosting two exciting workshops to help hone our theatrical and musical skills.

So, to be informed, keep reading Gaslight and all our Social Media platforms.

South Pacific, the epic musical from Rodgers & Hammerstein, will run for a limited season at the ArtsCape Opera House in Cape Town. Each performance will be accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, and will feature classic songs such as “Some Enchanted Evening”, “Younger Than Springtime”, “There’s Nothing Like A Dame” and “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair”. G&S were very pleased to host this year’s inter-society quiz, and we congratulate MADS on their superb win.  A huge thank you to all G&S members for their support. We managed to have 7 teams take part, and whilst not winning, we were gracious hosts and all had a great time.  Due to the success of the quiz and the fun had by all members who participated, we are considering hosting out own in-society quiz soon.
